June 21, 2001. NBCi/Xoom announced they are discontinuing their free webhosting service as of July 15, 2001. I am in the process of reviewing my links pages looking for sites hosted by Xoom.com, and looking for mirror sites (if they have them). March 12, 2001. I am adding the Google search the web/search my site feature to my Tripod site (and hopefully the other sites as they get indexed).
March 6, 2001. Sometime between March 1 to March 5, 2001 Tripod deleted my account/web site. As per their useage agreement that I signed to get their free space, they are not required to notify me that they don't like what I am doing, or give advance notification (or notification of any kind) about my removal from their site. So I was quite taken by surprise when I tried logging in one day and no longer had a web site.
The last stats Tripod gave me were 9,000+ visitors per month. Since my site is so popular, I have decided to keep it going, in spite of this major setback. I continue to work on modifying the web site for relocation to FreeServers.com. Modifcations to this web site include removal of all web pages no longer needed, including QWK networks that have ceased to function or have merged into larger networks, the radio show which ended in 1998, the Tripod search engine, Guest Book, ...
The music site I helped with decided go with CommandLine.net to host their new ChromeOxide.com. I wish them the best of luck.
April 5, 2000. Ijust read an article that mentioned that:
Late last year (1999), ParaSoft Corp. conducted an audit of about 300,000
web pages on the Fortune 100 sites. The audit uncoverd 84,000 link errors
and more than 3.6 million HTML errors. That means, on average, a link error
once per every 3.5 pages, and 12 HTML coding errors per page.
And you wondered why it was so difficult using the internet to find something or to do something.
February 2, 2000. While this is not a computer link announcement, for those in the Los Angeles area, this might be of interest.
I am the vendor coordinator for the LANet (Los Angeles Novell User Group). Our monthly meetings are on the fourth Tuesday of the month. There is an admission fee (which includes pizza and soda). So if you are interested in seeing a Network related presentation in a more intimate setting (normal attendance is 35 people), consider attending.
December 15, 1999. I have done some rearranging and changing. I have moved a few links from the computer pages, to some of my other pages. And I have added a few links to my non computer pages to this index. Some of the changes are: Auctions, Audio, Freebies, News (general), Opinions (web reviews), Radio, Science (general), Travel, Web Rewards (get paid to surf the internet). Also, some sections I have moved from one page to another. Just trying to make the layout of this site make more sense to me. And hopefully to you.
November 23, 1999. One of the user groups I attend regularly is the LANet (Los Angeles Novell User Group). I have now taken the next step, and have gone from being a member, to being on the board of directors. I will be the Vendor Coordinator for the year January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2000. If your company has a product that you think would be of interest to the group, please let me know, and we can see about your doing a presentation for the group.
October 22, 1999. The Earthquake City BBS web site hit the big time! And I didn't even know it.
Tripod stats showed that this web site had more than 4,000 unique visitors last month (September 1999). Because of that, Tripod has increased my web space from 11mb to 50mb.
And now a brief comment about the search engine available on this site.
PicoSearch indexes this site whenever I request it (normally about once per
month). Therefore you won't be able to find the newest additions to this site
using it. However, it displays the results much nicer. Not only does it show
you what page it found the item on, it also displays the surrounding context.
And, you can click on the link to get there.
October 16, 1999. This is no longer a single page. Each letter of the alphabet gets its own separate page. You no longer have the [ctrl]-F (find) feature from your browser to find an interesting link here. But you do have the PicoSearch site search available.
Let (me) know if there is any interest, in me putting up a single zip file here with the 26 seperate pages along with a search tool that you can use offline.

June 8, 1999. Just more of the usual. Added more links. Corrected a few of the older links. This page keeps increasing in size, and finally broke the 400kb size.
April 29, 1999. I reorganized the individual sections a little bit.
September 26, 1998. I changed the layout slightly. Now, each alphabetical section on this page has a complete alphabetical index. This makes the page slightly larger, but that should be offset by the added ease of maneuvering on the page.
September 19, 1998. I added a web site map link to the top of each of the pages for Earthquake City BBS.
April 14, 1998. After doing the usual miscellaneous additions and corrections, I noticed this page has grown to 200k in size. That is a lot of interesting links that I have noticed since I started work on this page in August 1997.
Earthquake City BBS [Wildcat v4.20 (10 user-DOS)] runs and resides on a NetWare v3.20 (10 user) server. Because I use these on a daily basis, I have tried to collect links of interest to myself as well as others that still use DOS and / or NetWare on a regular basis. Occasionally I forget myself and put in links to various other operatings systems and / or software that looks interesting. Please forgive me. :-)
You might want to check here regularly, as I will be adding URLs as I come across them at in various computer shows, seminars, magazines, ...
Because of the nature of the internet, even though these URLs were correct when I originally started working on this page, they may no longer be accurate. Therefore, any additions / corrections / deletions to this list will be greatly appreciated.

Los Angeles FreeNet originally disabled the GoTo function of Lynx running on
their server. They did finally enable the GoTo function, but not in the
browser, but off their main menu. So, here is an alternative way to
GoTo Web Site,
GoTo FTP Site
without having to leave your browser.
I just heard (December 30, 1999) that Los Angeles FreeNet has disabled their text based accounts, and Lynx. If you can telnet to lynx.scramworks.net I understand they have Lynx available for the surfer that prefers fast access rather than slow graphics.
